Today I saw a Ring-billed Gull flying around Hagerstown.  I know to most of you thats nothing, but this is my 3rd summer down here and its my FIRST summer record.  Heck they arent very common in winter.  I miss the gulls on the Chemung River.

Dave,

I've had a first year male Orchard Oriole hanging around our neighborhood since mid-June. I definitely lead the CVAS league in Orchard Oriole sightings! It's the only thing I have over you & Bill!!

I'll send a few Ring-bills your way. I talked to a city councilman today and they are definitely going to do something about the gulls. Apparently there is a problem around the arena area. I told him that gulls can be very opportunistic scavengers. Tell people not to throw out food wastes in the parking lots and streets and the gull problem would go away. Take care.

I can find an Orchard Oriole any day I want down here!  The ONLY ones I ever saw in New York were at your farm because you told me it was there.
